About Carol Sumilas Boshears

A person can have many lifetimes, and I feel I have achieved that. From an eight year old writing plays, to being a college student, then on my own with a job, to being a wife and mother. Now I am excited at this "lifetime" I have been given. I have always wanted to write and entertain the public, and now I am, and I relish it.

Carol Sumilas Boshears was born and raised in Scranton, PA, and went to Keystone (jr.) College and Kent State University where she received her degree in psychology. She went on to be a social worker in her hometown, then a wife of an AF pilot, and later a mother. Her hometown was left behind, and new adventures began.

Finally finding time to write, she had articles published in "Antique Week" and "Antique Trader". She also co-authored a book on Gonder pottery with her husband.

Carol is very diverse, and not a woman of one genre. Her first book is a children's picture book, something she never thought she'd do. She sent it to Michelle Obama and got a warm response thanking her, and commending her for the theme of good eating habits for children (the letter is pictured here in a frame).

Her next book is a fiction novel entitled "Women on Fire- Adventure with Flair", a different and unique book about young ladies escaping their small town. And her fantastic sense of humor is known to all, as you will see. This certainly shows in this novel. The next book is a non-fiction anthology filled with both heartwarming and unique stories; including one of her friend as a POW of the Nazis. There will be historical fiction one in the future.

She recalls the time she has worn two different shoes on occasion. She calls it one of her many "foibles". She also never knew that the paper strip on the Hershey kiss was to tear off the foil. Oh, well, she's human, and she can laugh at herself. Carol is the noted family rebel, and as her cousin said, "She's a challenge, but we love her."

Carol's diversity brings a lot to her writing. From her passion about ancient Egypt, old muscle cars, animals, antiques/collectibles, sci-fi, spirits, photography (a must see site) and travel, she has a lot to utilize in her stories. Many subjects are in her wheel house, as can be seen in both her children's picture book and her novel "Women on Fire: Adventure with Flair", along with "Glass House and Girdles", the non-fiction anthology.
